SDF fighter Abdul-Qader Muhammad Al-Hussein, nom de guerre “Botan”, is from the city of Al-Hasaka. He was forced to drop school at an early stage, to help his family.
He joined the Syrian Democratic Forces, SDF, in 2016, believing that it is the only force that can protect the people from terrorism in all its forms.
Abdul Qader underwent several military training and ideological lectures and participated in all the battles to liberate the countryside of Deir ez-Zor from the terrorist organization of ISIS.
Before the liberation of Al-Baghouz town, the last stronghold of ISIS, Abdul Qader was hit by shrapnel during fierce battles that ended with the defeat of the terrorist organization. However, his injury did not prevent him from participating with his fellow fighters in the tasks assigned to him.
On October 9, 2019, when the Turkish occupation launched its aggression on the city of “Serêkaniyê [Ras al-Ain], Abdul Qader participated in the battles to defend the city and its people.
“Following several days of fighting with the enemies, the decision to withdraw from the city came to protect civilians and children living inside the city from the Turkish occupation, which does not differentiate between civilian or military,” he said.
“The Turkish occupation still commits daily massacres in the city,” he added.
