SDF: Six mercenaries killed, two vehicles destroyed in legitimate response operations

The Syrian Democratic Forces continue their actions in response to the attacks by the Turkish state forces and allied mercenaries in North-East Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the outcome of their legitimate response operations against the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on January 24.

The SDF statement on Saturday includes the following:

“In response to the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, our forces targeted yesterday, Friday, several positions along the Qara Qwzaq Bridge axis. These included positions in the village of “Najm Castle,” as well as bases in the village of “Al-Hawshariya” and on “Khudey Hill”, southeast of Manbij. During this operation, it was confirmed that six mercenaries were eliminated and eight others were injured.

Additionally, our forces successfully destroyed a radar system belonging to the Turkish occupation east of Manbij.

Meanwhile, Turkish occupation warplanes intensified their attacks, carrying out two airstrikes on the village of “Ghasaq,” one on “Al-Tineh,” two on “Al-Sha’baniya,” and one on “Bir Hasso.” These raids did not result in any casualties. However, the Turkish occupation escalated its barbaric shelling against villages near the Qara Qwzaq Bridge, using heavy artillery, mortars, and rocket launchers. The villages of “Bir Hasso,” “Al-Tineh,” “Deckan,” and “Saifi Hill”, along with the Qara Qazaq Bridge itself, were heavily bombarded. No losses were reported from this shelling.

In addition, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam with warplane airstrikes and heavy weapons. The Turkish occupation mercenaries also attempted an attack on Syriatel Hill, but they were intercepted and targeted by our Martyr Haroun Units, who destroyed a military vehicle (Toyota) belonging to the mercenaries.

Another attack was attempted by the Turkish mercenaries on our positions along the Deir Hafer front. Our fighters successfully repelled this attack, eliminating and injuring several mercenaries, though the exact numbers remain unconfirmed. Our Martyr Haroun Units also targeted mercenary vehicles, destroying one of their cars, while simultaneously shelling mercenary gatherings and positions with heavy weapons.

In total, six mercenaries were eliminated, eight others injured, and two vehicles destroyed during yesterday’s operations.”
