Six Internal Security Forces members laid to rest in Raqqa

Six freedom fighters who fell as martyrs in the attack carried out by ISIS mercenaries on the headquarters of the Internal Security Forces in Raqqa were buried with a ceremony held in Raqqa.

Internal Security Forces members Îsmaîl Ebdulcendelî, Beşar Oryal Îsmaîl, Husam Hemed El Mûsa, Enes Ebdulezîz El Meter and SDF fighters Omer Feyad El Nasir, Ehmed Nasir El Silêman, fell as martyrs on 26 December following an attack on their headquarters carried out by ISIS mercenaries.

The martyrs were laid to rest in the Martyrs' Cemetery in the village of Hikumiye after a ceremony held in Raqqa.

The ceremony was attended by the families of the martyrs, SDF commanders, tribal sheikhs and opinion leaders, members of military and civilian institutions and hundreds of people.

SDF Raqqa Press Office member Mistefa Bali said: "We can only say that we stand behind our word given to the SDF's heroic martyrs."

Bali added: “Our martyrs sacrificed their lives to protect their families from criminals and terrorist attacks on Christmas Day. We promise the martyrs that we will follow their paths and ensure the stability and security of our cities and people. As the SDF and the Autonomous Administration, we have foiled the colonial projects for the last 5 years and we will continue to do so."

Speaking on behalf of the Internal Security Forces, Eli El Hesen said: “We promised this country to defend its people, at any cost. We promise the mothers of martyrs that we will be a shield against all kinds of attacks.”

After the martyrdom documents were read and delivered to their families, the martyrs were laid to rest.
