TEV-DEM calls for the removal of Turkish troops and mercenaries from Afrin

TEV-DEM said that the Turkish state was responsible for the massacre in Jindires and called for the removal of the Turkish army and its mercenaries from Afrin and all other occupied regions.

The Al-Sharqiya group affiliated with the Syrian National Army opened fire on a group of Kurdish locals who wanted to light a Newroz fire in Afrin's Jindires district, claiming the lives of 4 citizens and injuring some others on the night of March 20.

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) released a written statement concerning the killing of 4 local men, pointing out that: “Occupied Afrin has been subjected to inhumane treatment and conditions by the Turkish army and its mercenaries, which pose a major danger. The occupying Turkish state is responsible for all inhumane crimes and dangerous conditions in Afrin.”

The statement added: “We urge the UN, humanitarian and legal organizations to intervene immediately and fulfil their humanitarian and moral responsibilities towards the people of Afrin. We also call for the removal of the Turkish army and its mercenaries from Afrin and other parts of Syria.”
