In a statement marking the anniversary of the Paris Massacre, the KBDH saluted the struggle of the women who were murdered in Paris and emphasized that resisting will win.
The Women's United Revolutionary Movement (KBDH) General Council issued a written statement to mark the anniversary of the Paris Massacre.
The statement said: "We continue to keep alive the struggle of Rosa Luxemburg, Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbin), Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), and all immortalized women revolutionaries who symbolize resistance against male dominance and fascism.
The revolutionary lives of Rosa Luxemburg, Meral Yakar, Lale Çolak, Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan, and Leyla Şaylemez continue to be the cornerstone of the women’s struggle, not only in the Middle East, but across the world. Our female pioneers, who relentlessly walk the struggle against body and labor exploitation, male-state violence, fascism, and occupation, are the architects of the uprisings rising today against oppression. Their resistance is the same as the struggles of women in the streets, the actions of working women surrounding factories, and the resistance of those fighting against occupation in Kurdistan."
The statement further emphasized that Rosa Luxemburg's slogan "Immediately, tomorrow, revolution... I existed, I exist, I will exist," coined in Berlin on January 15, 1919, continues to resonate as the slogan for women resisting today. "Just as the resistance of Comrade Sara, who wrote the epic of resistance in Diyarbakır prisons against the enemy, their lives continue to teach us how to fight against the ongoing attacks, how to expand resistance, and how to intensify the women's rebellion. The lives and resistance of our female pioneers continue to guide us in the fight against the male-dominated fascist state."
The statement continued: "Today, the attacks on Rojava are attacks on women’s resistance and women’s gains against the male-dominated, fascist system. The ruling powers aim to destroy the women’s resistance, which was nurtured and brought to life in the revolutionary lands of Rojava. Just as we resisted and triumphed against the Islamist ISIS gangs through women like Arîn Mîrkan, Aynur Ada, Ekin Ceren, and Ivana, today we continue to resist with the same belief and expand our victory against these attacks."
The statement also highlighted that the slogan "Jin Jiyan Azadi" (Women, Life, Freedom) has become the defining slogan of this age, rising against oppression, exploitation, and occupation. “Resistance to male dominance has united women worldwide under this slogan, and the women who continue to shout it with courage will keep fighting for their lives and liberation. The male-dominated system, which is afraid of a slogan, will be overthrown by women’s resistance. The victory will be the resistance of women, from Rosas to Saras!
We have not been able to stop women through war, poverty, and male-dominated attacks. Women stand courageously in the streets, mountains, and on the fronts, step by step. Your tanks, bombs, assassinations, death sentences, patriarchal laws, and trustees have not been able to stop women. Today, with their growing uprisings, women are walking toward victory and liberation with resistance against male dominance, capitalism, and occupation."
"We will organize the uprising everywhere"
The statement added: "We are at a historical turning point in which the imperialist capitalist system is attempting to reshape the world, leaving the burden of its severe crisis on the oppressed, the people, the working class, and women. In this period marked by increasing poverty, occupation attacks, and wars, almost all of women’s gains are being attempted to be destroyed. For this reason, understanding the historical legacy of the immortalized women comrades in the resistance and expanding their struggle has become an even more critical task.
In order for women to carry their resistance against the male-dominated system to victory, it is one of our essential duties to protect areas of resistance that will defeat the system and fascist attacks and to create new areas of resistance, to defend the gains created under the leadership of women in Rojava wherever they are. Claiming the legacy of our immortalized women comrades, passes through organizing the rebellion in every field and growing the war.
We will expand the resistance by stepping beyond the boundaries set by the male-dominated state, following the path of our revolutionary comrades, such as Rosa and Sara, who have continued the revolutionary struggle relentlessly and without hesitation. We will raise organized women’s resistance in the streets, prisons, workplaces, and on the frontline.
Following their lead, we will continue to elevate the Women’s United Revolutionary Movement in opposition to violence, exploitation, poverty, and fascism. We will amplify the anger of women filling the streets, ensuring their voices are heard even more powerfully.
Women resisting fascism, male dominance, exploitation, and imperialist capitalism will win! The united revolutionary movement of women, from Rosas to Saras, will continue the resistance and achieve victory!"
