In a statement on Thursday, the Press Centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) provided information about the resistance of the guerrillas against the Turkish invasion and the latest attacks by the Turkish army on the guerrilla-held Medya Defence Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
According to the statement, guerrillas from the Free Women's Troops (YJA Star) and HPG carried out a series of actions against the occupying forces in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap Region in the Medya Defense Zones.
On the other hand, the occupying Turkish state bombed the region 27 times by warplanes, 4 times by helicopters and once by an explosive-laden drone.
HPG provided the details of the guerrilla actions and the attacks by the invading Turkish army as follows:
“Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region;
On17 September at 16:17, the invaders who attempted to bomb our war tunnels in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area with banned explosives were struck and stopped by the guerrillas with sabotage tactics. This action was carried out by our YJA Star forces.
On 18 September at 17:50, the invaders in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area attempting to advance towards the war tunnels were struck by the guerrillas with sabotage tactics. In this action carried out by our YJA Star forces, 2 invaders were killed.
On 17 September at 17:35, the invaders in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with heavy weapons.
On 18 September at 15:20, the invaders who attempted to advance towards our war tunnels in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with assassination tactics. In this action carried out by our YJA Star forces, 1 invader was killed.
On 18 September at 17:50 and 18:40, the invaders in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with heavy weapons.
On 18 September at 20:45, our forces intervened with medium automatic weapons against a tank set to bomb our war tunnels in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area. After the intervention of our forces, the tank had to retreat.
At 11:20 on 17 September at 11:20, a digger belonging to the invaders in Girê Bahar Resistance Area was struck by the guerrillas with medium automatic weapons and stopped.
On 17 September at 15:40, the invaders in Girê Bahar Resistance Area were struck by the guerrillas with a special technique. 6 invaders were hit accurately and killed, 1 chain grenade launcher and the arsenal of the invaders were destroyed.
Metîna region
On 18 September at 07:00, a drone loaded with explosives belonging to the invaders was shot down by the guerrillas using assassination tactics in the Şêlazê Resistance Area.
On 18 September, the invaders who attempted to position themselves opposite our war tunnels in Şêlazê Resistance Area were intervened and forced to retreat one level.
Attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army with banned explosives
On 18 September, our tunnels in the Şêlazê Resistance Area in the Metîna region were bombed by drones loaded with explosives.

On 17 and 18 September, Turkish fighter jets carried out a total of 27 strikes, targeting the Berbizinê, Sinînê, Kendekola, Goşînê Resistance Areas in the Xakurkê region 11 times; the areas of Dêrîk, Bilindbazê, Kanî Sarkê, Xêrê, Sêdarê in the Garê region 9 times; the Bêşîlî Resistance Area in the Metîna region once, and the areas of Bêpala and Girê Şehîd Hîwa in the Qendîl region 6 times.
On 17 and 18 September, attack helicopters shelled the Girê FM Resistance Area in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region twice and the Serê Metîna Resistance Area in Metîna region twice.
