The Peoples’ Defense Forces (HPG) Press Center has issued a statement on the latest Turkish attacks in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
The statement includes the following:
“On July 19, at 22:30, the invading Turkish army attacked the battle tunnels in the Werxelê area of Avaşîn with explosives and poisonous gases.
On July 19, at 16:00, the vicinity of the village of Bazê in the Kanî Masî sub-district of the Amadiya district was bombed by fighter jets. Fire which broke out in the field as a result of the bombardment continues.
On July 19, between 16:30 and 00:00, the Çemço area of Zap was bombed with howitzers fired from the border outposts.
We suffered no casualties as a result of these attacks.”
