The AKP government is employing several methods to overcome the obstacle of a referendum on the path to a one-man regime and has started showing teeth through detentions, interventions and arrests against the “No” front. AKP mobilizes all their forces to turn the “No” votes into “Yes” votes. In the referendum under AKP-MHP alliance, everybody is in agreement that the Kurdish vote is key.

AKP has foreseen that they won’t receive the support they expected from Kurdistan with their genocidal policies towards Kurds and now they are actively using the DBP municipalities they usurped with trustees for their interest in order to reverse the situation.

One of the most important municipalities in Amed, the Kayapınar District Municipality is on top of the list of municipalities used actively to this end. The municipality is surrounded by the police, and the firing of workers continues. 14 people in the press and public relations department and 25 municipal police officers were let go during the week.

THE MUNICIPALITY IS USED AS A PARTY COMPANY

There is now a 600-person deficit in the Kayapınar Municipality workforce, and the people are being told if they vote “yes” in the referendum, they will get one of those jobs. PASSING OUT 6 THOUSAND GOLD COINS AND BADMOUTHING THE DBP

The AKP members are using all the means the municipalities they couldn’t win in fair elections so they usurped through trustees. 6 thousand gold coins bought with the Kayapınar Municipality Office of Private Secretary budget is passed out as referendum bribes. The AKP members visited neighborhoods and made a list of women who recently gave birth. The AKP members are using the Municipality for AKP propaganda, badmouthing the DBP municipalities and making counter-propaganda that they never worked and they were corrupt.

ENSARİOĞLU FAMILY LEADS THE CAMPAIGN

AKP Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu is reported to run the trustee-appointed municipalities in Amed in the name of the government and has included his family in his efforts. The AKP supporter family is promising people left and right that if they work for them and vote “Yes” they will get jobs. Ensarioğlu’s brother Cihan Ensarioğlu opened a communications bureau next to the Research Hospital and informs people of the conditions and what they have to do.
