KDP and MIT tried to block Defend Kurdistan members in South Kurdistan

The Defend Kurdistan initiative members said that the KDP and Turkish intelligence service (MIT) attempted to interfere with them in Southern Kurdistan, while they observed that the KDP could not integrate with the people.

Members of the Defend Kurdistan Initiative talked about their experiences in southern Kurdistan in a panel in Berlin, Germany.

Around 80 people attended the panel organized by Frei Kurdische Gemeinde Berlin (Free Kurdish Community-Nav Berlin) and Ceni (Kurdish Women's Peace Bureau). Peace delegation members Jana Forsler and Thomas Sonkara talked about their experiences in South Kurdistan where they paid a visit to call for peace.

Armenian Lawyer Gevoukien mentioned the policies implemented during the late Ottoman period and stated that the AKP-MHP fascist bloc aims to reintroduce the borders of the Ottoman period. Gevoukien explained that the Erdogan regime seeks to attain the Ottoman borders as the Lausanne Treaty expires on July 24, 1923, and has been attacking the Kurds who Turkey deems an obstacle to do so.

Gevoukien pointed out that just as the Ottoman Empire massacred Armenians in 1915, the Turkish state wants to carry out a similar massacre and genocide against the Kurds today.

'KDP PROMOTES UNLAWFULNESS'

Delegation members Jana and Thomas explained that they went to southern Kurdistan to get to know Kurdistan, its history, its ecological life and the Kurdish people as individuals defending an ecological system in Germany.

The delegation members pointed out that the KDP government practiced lawlessness and could not integrate with the people.

They noted that they held meetings with political parties and non-governmental organizations and were followed by the KDP and the MIT that wanted to prevent these meetings.
