  Turkish poet Ahmet Telli has been sentenced to ten months imprisonment for "terror propaganda" and the prison sentence was suspended.

• Victims of Madımak pogrom commemorated: "The light of Sivas will never go out" 

  The victims of the pogrom 30 years ago were commemorated in Sivas. 35 people, mostly of the Alevi faith, were killed on 2 July 1993 when a fanatical Islamist mob marched in front of the Madımak Hotel and set it on fire.

  Thirty years ago, the Madımak Hotel in Sivas was set on fire by a religious nationalist mob during an Alevi event, and 35 people burnt to death. KCK commemorates the victims and warns against further massacres.

  Survivors of the shipwreck which caused hundreds of refugees to get lost in Greece, said that the Greek coast guard did not want to rescue them.
• Suburban revolt in France spreads to dozens of cities 

  The riot that started after the killing of a 17-year-old boy by the police in France escalated on the third night. Municipalities, public transportation vehicles, shops, cars and schools were set on fire and at least 667 people were detained.
• Turkey ranks 147th out of 163 countries in Global Peace Index 

  Turkey remains the least peaceful country in the region and is the only European country ranked outside the top half of the Global Peace Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace. This is the least peaceful Turkey has been since 2018.

• Charges against former Cologne councilor dropped in Turkey 

  The Turkish judiciary ended the "terror" proceedings against the former Cologne city councilor and member of the state parliament Hamide Akbayir. The allegations that the 64-year-old was a member of a "terrorist organization" were dropped.
• YPS sets fire to 8 vehicles in Antalya to protest isolation  

  The Martyr Delal Amed YPS Retaliation Team claimed responsibility for the setting on fire of 8 vehicles belonging to "collaborators of the fascist regime" in Antalya to protest the torture system in Imrali prison.
