  Politicians and artists in Sweden sent a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations demanding to break the isolation against Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and to end the violations of rights in prisons.
• CPT delegation visits Turkey but doesn't go to Imrali 

  A delegation from the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) visited Turkey from 11 to 25 January. The delegation didn't go to Imrali but discussed its latest reccomendations with the Turkish authorities.
• Geneva demo: Öcalan's isolation is intended to break the Kurdish people’s resistance 

  The solidarity action for the political prisoners in Turkey has continued in front of the UN headquarters in Geneva. Kurdish politician Metin Mintaş stated that Öcalan's isolation is intended to break the resistance of the Kurdish people.
• German government calls on Turkey to comply with ECtHR ruling and release Demirtaş 

  The German government is "emphatically" calling on the Turkish leadership in Ankara to comply with ECtHR rulings. This specifically concerns the Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtaş.
• Activist kidnapped by the “Invisibles” speaks of torture he suffered 

  Gökhan Güneş, who was kidnapped in Istanbul and has been released after 6 days, told that he was held in a place similar to a padded cell and tortured for days by people who introduced themselves as "Invisibles”.
• HDK co-spokesperson released from prison 

  HDK co-spokesperson Sedat Şenoğlu was released from prison on the first day of the trial in Istanbul. He had been arrested in September along with 16 other people associated with the socialist party ESP.
• Young activists take over Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg 

  Kurdish youth took over the ongoing Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg. The action demand the end of the isolation imposed upon the Kurdish people's leader as well as his freedom.

  HDP member Sevim Akdağ and Narin Dönmez were detained within the scope of genocide operations against members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement.

  Gökhan Güneş was left blindfolded Başakşehir at around 6 am this morning.
• Houses of Alevis marked with crosses in western Turkey 

  In the western Turkish province of Yalova, houses belonging to Alevis have been marked with crosses. This causes fears among Alevis because it is reminiscent of preparations for earlier pogroms against the pre-Islamic religious community.
