Kibar, daughter of Mihemed Hebeş, fell a martyr in an ambush in 1997. Mihemed cannot accept the death of his daughter, a lover of Kurdishness and Kurdistan, at the hands of the KDP.
Families of the guerrillas from Rojava, who fell as martyrs as a result of the KDP's betrayal that has continued for more than 30 years, say that parties other than the PKK did not give anything to these people, and add: "It is obvious that organizations like the KDP are doing it."
Families told ANF of endless betrayal and its costs.
Kibar Hebes was known as Necbir Koçer in the guerillas. She was born in Afrin/Tifle in 1977. She got to know the Apoists and their struggle, and wanted to join even though she was still young. When she was not accepted to participate due to her young age, she was included in some work in the region for a while. After a long effort, Necbir joined the guerrillas in 1994.
Mihemed Hebeş started to describe his daughter Kibar as follows: “She was my first child. She was precious. She was calm, on her own. She was stubborn. If she put something on her mind, she would try until she achieved it. It was the same in her life and in her struggle. She was secretly reading books and improving herself on Kurdishness and the struggle.”
She showed what she could do
Mihemed said: "Necbir insisted on joining the guerrillas. She always said that she wanted to join the Kurdish Freedom Struggle. She tried very hard to participate and joined with great enthusiasm. She had been working secretly from us for two years. We found out later. She got angry when we said she wouldn’t be able to do it. After he joined the guerrillas, she sent us a photo of her. She had sent the photo to prove that she could do it. I am proud of my daughter.”
She was in love with Kurdistan
Emphasizing that "Necbir loved Kurdishness and Kurdistan", Mihemed continued his speech as follows: "After joining, she went to Lebanon. She was giving Kurdish language lessons in Bekaa. When the leadership said to her, ‘We will send you to Europe for organizing work,’ she replied, ‘No, I want to go to the mountains of Kurdistan.’ In 1994, she moved to Gare in South Kurdistan.”
Martyr in a KDP ambush
Mihemed Hebeş said that they heard that Necbir was injured and added: "She was injured in Gare. She went to the city for treatment. She said she would go to war again after 6 months and went. She fell a martyr along with 29 of her friends as a result of the ambush set up by the KDP forces in Gare at the end of 1997.”
Guerrillas wounded by the KDP
Mihemed Habeş recalled those who came to Syria after being injured in the attack of the KDP forces against the guerrillas. “There were people injured in the attack of the KDP forces against the guerrillas. Some were brought to Syria. We brought them to our house. We were looking after them. Some lost their eyes, some lost their feet."
Habeş said: “Previously, we were delighted when we mentioned the Barzanis. I even named my son Mesud. But now. It is a shame. Enough of this war and brutality. Enough for them to massacre Kurdish youth. They attack Kurdish guerrillas. They continue to do so even today. I call out to the KDP. Go back to Kurdishness. That is, if you are Kurdish.”
