Nûrî Ehmed said that they received the news about his brother being killed by the KDP, while they were expressing their condolences for his deceased mother.
Nûrî Ehmed said that they received the news about his brother being killed by the KDP, while they were expressing their condolences for his deceased mother.
Nûrî Ehmed Ehmed, brother of Afrin guerrilla Hamit, who was killed by the KDP in 1997, said: “The KDP is the worst enemy of Kurdistan and the Kurdish people. With our resistance and struggle, we will throw these traitors out of history and we will win.”
Mustafa Ehmed (Hamit) was born in 1970, in the village of Qantar in Afrin. Hamit, who started to know the Kurdish Freedom Struggle in 1985, joined the guerrilla in 1988. Hamit stayed at the Mahsum Korkmaz Academy in Lebanon, and took on the security of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for a while.
Returning to the country in 1990, Hamit stayed in Botan for a while, then moved to South Kurdistan and carried out activities to organize the people in the Zaxo and Heftanîn areas. He fell a martyr in the attack of KDP forces in Garê in 1997.
An active spirit
Stating that his brother Hamit had an active spirit since childhood, Nûrî Ehmed said: “Mustafa was intelligent and hyperactive. While going to school, he decided to join the Kurdish Freedom Struggle. He took part in the security of Leader Apo in the Lebanon Camp for 9 months, then went to the country. We saw her appearance on television in 1996. He was in Zap. He was standing and fiddling with his watch.”
Saying that they got to know the Kurdish Freedom Struggle in 1985 thanks to his uncle's son Rifat, Nûrî Ehmed stated that he also took part in Aleppo, where the first meeting was held in 1986, and that he had the opportunity to see Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan in 1996-1997. "The ideology of the leadership and the belief and influence it has created in society cannot be described."
News of death arrived on mother’s condolences day
Ehmed described what he felt when he learned that his brother Hamit had fallen a martyr as follows: “I was not at home. My mother had just passed away and we were receiving guests for condolences in the garden. A lot of people were coming. We were exposed to intense pressure from the regime. On one dark day, when we learned that my brother had been killed by the Barzani family. Our anger grew even more.”
Nûrî Ehmed, who stated that they thought the KDP was a patriotic organization that defends Kurdishness and Kurdistan, said: "My father wants to name him Mustafa Mele Barzani in the population directorate when Mustafa (Hamit) was born. The officer in the population directorate refuses, saying, "No, when we name our children after them, they are killing us.”
Stating that the KDP has become the servant of the invaders, Nûrî Ehmed said: “If it were not for their treachery and betrayal, we would be in a different situation today. They are known in Kurdistan as the worst enemies of the Kurdish people. They do not allow the people of Kurdistan to recognize their own identity. The Barzani family is like Erdogan and the Baath regime in Kurdistan. They have become servants of the invaders.”
The worst enemy
Nûrî Ehmed said: “The KDP killed thousands of guerrillas and disappeared the bodies of hundreds of them. Even the Turkish state cannot do what they did today. They are more hostile than the enemy. Families protested in Semalka and at many points. But instead of responding to the families, they accused them. If they had an ounce of conscience left, they would have delivered those bodies.”
Ehmed said: “I am calling out to the betrayers. If you don't think about yourself, think about your children's future. Tomorrow, the invaders you are partners with will let you down, they won't give you money anymore and you will be stuck. One day you will give an account to this people. Agents and betrayers will be expelled from the history of Kurdistan. Of course, the invaders and their partners will lose. Victory will be ours.”
