The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have attacked Turkish bases in the occupied zone in response to Turkey's continued bombings in the autonomous region of Northern and Eastern Syria. As the multi-ethnic alliance announced on Thursday, two "successful operations" were carried out during the day against bases of the Turkish army and its jihadist proxy troops in the area around Zirgan. According to the information, several soldiers and mercenaries were killed and injured. The exact number is still unclear.
The SDF said: "The operations against the bases in the villages of Aniq Al-Hawa and Al-Dawudiya are part of the legitimate response of our forces to the ongoing brutal attacks of the Turkish occupation on our people and our areas."
The SDF had previously published an interim report on the consequences of Turkey's latest wave of attacks on the autonomous region of Northern and Eastern Syria. According to the report, twelve civilians have been killed, and 25 others injured in the attacks on civilian settlements and infrastructure that have continued since Wednesday evening. There are also children among the victims.
