The Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) strongly condemned the massacre of Alawites in Syria and called on everyone to raise their voices against massacres.
Armed groups loyal to the ruling Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) government in Damascus have massacred hundreds of Alawite civilians since March 6. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), around a thousand civilians have been killed.
In a written statement on Monday, the Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) said, “The Syrian people have suffered greatly during the 14 years of war and have been subjected to massive destruction and massacres. These wars and genocides have continued until today, deepening brutally. The attacks against the Alawite community today are a continuation of the same mentality.”
TAJÊ pointed out that the attacks and massacres against Yazidi women and the Yazidi people in 2014 were the same as those committed against Alawites today.
The statement concluded: “We call on our community, all women, other communities, faith groups and libertarian peoples to raise their voices against this genocide. Once again, we call on everyone to stand against the massacres and to prevent them.”
