First episode of docuseries 'Kurdish Resurrection' to be aired on Stêrk TV on 1 April

The promotional trailer for the first episode of the docuseries 'Kurdish Resurrection' has been released. The series, about the history of the PKK, will begin on 1 April in Kurdish and 4 April in Turkish.

Planned as a 90-episode, the docuseries is produced by the Martyr Gulistan Tara Documentary Commune.

The Kurdish version of the documentary will air on Stêrk TV every Wednesday starting 2 April, while the Turkish version will be broadcast on Medya Haber every Friday starting 4 April.

The first episode, titled In the Grip of Genocide, serves as an introduction, and will explore the historical background of the Kurdish people.

The documentary delves into the struggles of the Kurdish people throughout history, their role in the development of civilizations, and the reasons behind various uprisings over the past 200 years.

Additionally, it examines the forced displacements, massacres, and genocidal pressures Kurds faced following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.

In the Grip of Genocide features insights from historians and PKK members, providing a comprehensive summary of Kurdish history while highlighting the reasons behind the PKK’s emergence.

Future episodes will cover the migration story of Abdullah Öcalan’s family, his birth, and his childhood. These events will be depicted through cinematic reenactments.

Following their TV broadcasts, full episodes will also be available on the Commune’s official YouTube channel, with an option to watch them with English subtitles.
