The 2nd Paris Kurdish Culture Festival opened on May 6 and ended on May 12. The festival was organised by the Kurdish umbrella organization in France, CDK-F, in partnership with the Institut de Réflexion et d'Études sur le Kurdistan (IREK), the association Arts et Culture du Kurdistan (ACK) and the Fondation Danielle Mitterrand and supported by the municipalities in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, Sarcelles and Bobigny. The events did not only take place in Paris, but also in other regions of the Île-de-France. This year's festival was dedicated to Evîn Goyî (Emine Kara), Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and Abdurrahman Kızıl - the victims of the attack of 23 December 2022 on the Kurdish community in the Rue d'Enghien in Paris.
The second edition of the festival offered a wide range of cultural events to discover Kurdish culture and its rich heritage, including artistic performances, culinary exhibitions, film screenings, conferences and panels. Special attention was paid to the program for children, to whom a day of fun workshops was devoted to the discovery of the Kurdish language, music and dances.
On its final day, the festival hosted internationally renowned Kurdish singers and artists who performed a unique composition of Middle Eastern, folk, and rock music, among them Ruken Yılmaz, Bajar and Mehmet Atlı.
The festival ended with a tribute to Evin Goyi, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl, accompanied by the slogans "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) and "Şehîd namirin" (Martyrs are immortal).
