HPG and YJA Star guerrillas celebrated the 2022 Newroz in Xakurke, in the Medya Defense Areas, with great enthusiasm.
The celebration, which took place under heavy snowfall, started with a military ceremony.
After the speeches about the meaning of Newroz, the guerrillas danced a halay around the Newroz fire.
Celebrating the 2022 Newroz of the Kurdish people, especially Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, the guerrillas said: “The 50th Newroz will be the year of physical freedom for Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. The Newroz fire lit by contemporary Kawa, Mazlum Doğan, will never go out, and it will come out stronger every Newroz. Today, Kurdistan freedom guerrillas are struggling as blacksmith Kawa struggled against the cruel Dehak.”
The guerrillas, who called on the Kurdish people to unite around the struggle and resistance, said that “today's cruel tyrant Dehaq is the fascist AKP-MHP regime. The resistance led by the blacksmith Kawa defeated Dehaq. Today, the AKP-MHP regime will be overthrown by the resistance of the modern Kawas. 2022 will be the year of victory for the Kurdish people.”
