The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest attacks by the invading Turkish army and allied mercenaries against North-East Syria.
“The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue their aggression, now entering its fourth month without achieving their intended objectives thanks to the resilience and steadfast resistance of our forces,” said the SDF statement which shared the following details:
“At 7:00 AM on Saturday, Turkish occupation mercenaries launched an attack on one of our positions. However, our fighters successfully thwarted the attack, eliminating two mercenaries.
At 11:00 AM, in a desperate attempt to retrieve their eliminated mercenaries, the mercenaries launched a second attack but were met with fierce resistance. This attack was also thwarted, resulting in the elimination of four more mercenaries and multiple injuries among their ranks. Following their failed attack, they resorted to heavy artillery and mortar shelling, causing material damage. Meanwhile, warplanes intensified their flights in the area.
At 1:00 PM, a Turkish occupation UCAV targeted one of our positions in the northern countryside of the dam, resulting in the martyrdom of one of our fighters and wounding another.
In response to these attacks, our Martyr Haroun Units conducted an operation at 12:00 PM, successfully destroying a mercenary military vehicle. The exact number of casualties remains unknown.
The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted the villages of Bir Hissou and Al-Khashasha with heavy artillery and mortar fire, launching more than 13 shells. The bombardment caused significant material damage to civilians’ homes and property.
In retaliation, our fighters carried out two operations targeting the occupation’s positions and fortifications. One of their positions was struck, along with a military pickup truck. However, the number of casualties among their ranks remains unknown.”
