The Iranian regime continues to increase its pressure on the Kurds who are imprisoned in its jails. Gozel Jalaliyan, the mother of Zeynep Celaliyan, the first political Kurdish female prisoner to be sentenced to death in Iran, shared a video message stating that her daughter had been deported from Evin Prison in Tehran to Yazd Prison and denouncing the fact that she is not be allowed to visit her.
According to the report published by the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, the 70-year-old woman, who lives in the city of Mako, was taken from her home and threatened by Iranian Intelligence (Itlaat) members in the city on 21 February 2022. The report added that the Intelligence Services warned Gozel Jalaliyan telling her: "You are not allowed to share this matter with the press or social media in any way."
Arrested in 2007
The Political Prisoners Syndicate announced that Zeynep Jalaliyan was deported from Evin Prison to Yazd Prison and had not been heard from since May. She was arrested and sent to prison in Kırmaşan in 2007. Iranian courts sentenced Jalaliyan to death, but this sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment. Jalaliyan’s mother published the video to denounce the fact that she had not seen her daughter for 15 years.
