A delegation from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) visited the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Representation in Sulaymaniyah, highlighting the role of political parties in Başûr (South Kurdistan) in addressing the Kurdish issue and contributing to the peace process.
The six-member delegation traveled to South Kurdistan for official meetings. The delegation included DBP co-chair Keskin Bayındır, DEM Party Foreign Relations co-spokespersons Berdan Öztürk and Ebru Günay, DEM Party Mardin MP and Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) administrative officer Saliha Aydeniz, and Tevgera Jinên Azad (Free Women's Movement - TJA) member Adalet Fidan.
The delegation was welcomed by PYD’s South Kurdistan Representative Cavidan Kemal Hasan and PYD General Council member Bêrîvan Muhammed.
During the meeting, the delegation emphasized the role of political parties in South Kurdistan in resolving the Kurdish question and advancing the peace process, based on Abdullah Öcalan's call for "Peace and a democratic society".
As part of their visit, the delegation also met with the Goran Movement on Tuesday.
