A total of 1,418 people have been detained during protests that began with the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu and continued following his arrest. Of these, 172 have been formally arrested.
Additionally, 29 individuals have been placed under judicial control, six have been sentenced to house arrest, and one person has been released.
The Turkish Ministry of the Interior had previously announced that since 19 March, a total of 1,418 people had been taken into custody.
