Turkish-backed mercenaries confiscate olives as harvest begins in occupied Afrin

The olive harvest has begun in Afrin. The harvested olives are confiscated by jihadist mercenaries of the Turkish occupation regime.

With the beginning of the olive harvest in Afrin, new cases of seizures by the occupying regime are revealed every year. Since the occupation of the region by the Turkish state and its jihadist mercenaries in spring 2018, agricultural products have been confiscated and mostly transferred to Turkey.

According to the ANHA news agency, jihadists forced the inhabitants of Bilbile district to hand over the olives they had picked. The villages of Şêxorzê, Ipila, Qûrta, Qûta, Kûtana, Bîbaka, Bolya, Ubêdonê, Heftêr, Qestel and Elî Kero were affected. In the Shera district, the harvest was confiscated in the villages of Ursmo and Nebî Horî. The olives are collected in the village of Ubêdonê and taken to a factory for processing.

Militiamen from the Sultan Murad Brigade confiscated 150 sacks of olives in the village of Kûtana a few days ago and mistreated the owner, Ehmed Henan. In Kefer Sefrê in Jindires district, the olive harvest of three families has been stolen by members of the Samarkand militia. The confiscation of crops in the villages of Kûmreş and Hesen is also reported from the Rajo district.
