YPJ Commander Leyla Waşukanî emphasised the importance of the Kurdish women's revolution and struggle and said that women should fight against male-dominated systems in an organised and courageous way.
YPJ pays tribute to commander Hevi Umud who lost her life in a targeted drone attack by the invading Turkish state, vowing to “follow in the footsteps of our martyrs until we achieve a free tomorrow for our people and all of humanity.”
Saluting women's struggle for freedom and liberation, HBDH called on women to join the revolutionary struggle against male domination, war, exploitation and violence.
"Violence against women has both universal and local characteristics, originating from the hegemonic male mentality and system. All women and children murdered and subjected to physical and mental violence are our reason for struggle and revenge."
