  The Iranian regime has recently been trying to suppress the popular protests of the people by deploying groups of gangs in many cities of Eastern Kurdistan.
• KDP, PUK agree on improving cooperation following talks 

  Following the KDP and PUK Politburo meeting in Sulaymaniyah, YNK's Mela Bextiyar and KDP's Nechirvan Barzani held a joint press conference. Speaking at the meeting, Barzani said they were ready to hold talks with Iraq.
• One Turkish soldier killed in Çukurca 

  HPG said one Turkish soldier was killed in Çukurca district of Hakkari.

• Earthquake in Kermanshah wounds 21 

  A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Sarpol e Zahab in the western province of Kermanshah on Saturday night. According to the officials, 21 people were wounded.
• One doctor for 200 thousand people in Erciş 

  Erciş State Hospital, which was severely damaged after the 2011 earthquake, and the prefabricated structure formed next to it, serves the district and neighboring centers. But 200 thousand people have just one doctor.
• Six soldiers killed in Uludere 

  HPG Press Center announced that six Turkish soldiers have been killed in Şırnak’s Uludere district.
• 31 areas in Hakkari banned for public 

  31 areas in Hakkari have been declared “special security areas” between January 9 and 23 as part of the operation the Turkish army is to conduct. Entrance to and exit from the areas have been banned.

  Identities of four female guerrillas and two militia members, who fell as martyrs in a clash with Iranian military forces in October, have been announced.

  ITF administrator Sabah Kadir Kasım’s home was attacked with a bomb in the evening in Kirkuk.
• Footage of guerrilla action on Hill Xeregol released 

  Gerîla TV has released footage from the action in which guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers in the countryside of Çukurca, Hakkari.
• Iranian soldiers kill two Kurdish kolbers in Urumiyah 

  Iranian soldiers killed two Kurdish kolbers (Kurdish word for porters in border region) and wounded two others in Urumiyah.
• 60 recruits join YBS in Shengal 

  After completing military training 60 recruits joined Shengal Resistance Units (YBS) in Shengal.
• Iraqi forces implement “Arabisation” policies in Kirkuk 

  A press statement was held in Kirkuk against Iraqi forces’ policy of displacement against the Kurdish people in Kirkuk and its districts. After the demonstration, Iraqi forces detained two people.
• “The revolutionary struggle will be crowned with victory in 2018” 

  HPG and YJA star guerrillas celebrated the 40th year of the PKK with the new year and stated that 2018 will be the year of victory in the line of Delal Amed.
• Iraqi Turkmen Front official killed in Kirkuk 

  Iraqi Turkment Front (ITC) official Aladdîn Meqsûd Zeynel was shot dead in an armed attack in Kirkuk Tuesday evening.
• Forests cut down in Sirnak 

  The Turkish army continues to cut down forests in Besta. The trees are being used in military bases and homes of village guards.

  Unknown assailants targeted an Iraqi army base with mortar fire in Kurdistan neighbourhood in Kirkuk.
