Four suicide drones shot down by the SDF amid escalated airstrikes by the Turkish state

SDF forces thwarted attacks on the Tishrin Dam and Qereqozak Bridge as the Turkish state intensified its airstrikes on the region.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest attacks by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries on the areas of Tishrin Dam, Qereqozak Bridge and Deir Hafer.

The SDF statement on Friday includes the following:

“Yesterday, Thursday, the Turkish occupation escalated its aerial attacks on the countryside surrounding Tishreen Dam, carrying out multiple airstrikes on workers’ housing of the dam and the village of Al-Ramda, coinciding with intense artillery shelling that targeted several villages in the southeastern countryside of Manbij.

The Turkish occupation also launched a large-scale attack using more than 11 suicide drones. However, our fighters successfully intercepted and shot down four of them.

Amidst the aerial and ground bombardment, the Turkish mercenaries attempted an attack on our positions, but our fighters repelled the attack, engaging in fierce clashes with the mercenaries, resulting in casualties among the mercenaries, although their exact numbers remain unknown.

Additionally, our Martyr Haroun Units played a key role in repelling the attack, successfully destroying a military vehicle equipped with rocket launchers.

On the Deir Hafer front, Turkish occupation targeted one of our positions using both UCAVs and suicide drones. The attack caused only material damage. Throughout the day, the UCAVs continued to monitor the area’s airspace.

On the Qara Qwzaq (Qereqozak) front, Turkish warplanes carried out multiple airstrikes on the village of Ghasq, resulting in material damage to civilian properties. Meanwhile, the villages of Al-Tina, Ja’da, Bir Hisso, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and Al-San’a were subjected to indiscriminate shelling with heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortar fire. More than 80 shells were fired, causing extensive destruction to homes and civilian properties. Taking advantage of the aerial and ground bombardment, Turkish occupation mercenaries launched an attack on our positions. However, our fighters successfully repelled the attack following intense clashes, which left several mercenaries injured, though their exact numbers remain unverified.

On the Ain Issa front, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted villages in the town’s countryside with heavy weaponry. They also launched a suicide drone attack on the cement company in Al-Chalabiya, causing extensive destruction to the facility. Turkish warplanes and UCAVs patrolled the area’s skies continuously throughout the day and night, while Turkish warplanes and UCAVs remained active over Kobani and its surrounding countryside.”
