  Since August 2019 there has been no sign of life from Abdullah Öcalan. In Strasbourg, former hunger strikers have called on the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture to keep its promises and end the isolation on Imrali.
• "The Belgian PKK verdict should be a precedent in the EU" 

  The PKK is not a terrorist organisation, the Belgian Court of Cassation ruled on Tuesday. At a press conference in Brussels, politicians and parties to the proceedings have called for a new approach by the EU to the Kurdish question.
• ISIS attacks Iraqi military checkpoints 

  The ISIS has overrun two checkpoints of the Iraqi military near Kirkuk in northern Iraq. People were killed and injured.
• Öcalan’s lawyers apply to visit Imralı 

  Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers have applied to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to meet with their client.
• Metal workers will go on strike on 5 February 

  Metal workers union, Birleşik Metal-Iş confirmed that over 10,000 workers will go on strike on 5 February.
• Brazilian Petrobras workers go on indefinite strike from tomorrow 

  The workers are protesting a plan by the state-controlled company to close the Parana Nitrogen Fertilizer plant firing its 396 workers.
• Coronavirus has already killed 170 

  The Coronavirus, which appeared in China in December, continues to spread rapidly. The number of those who lost their lives rose to 170, the number of cases reported exceeded 7,700.

• HDP: Embargo against Maxmur must be lifted 

  HDP Amed Provincial President Zeyat Ceylan said that the people of Maxmur should not be punished because of the dirty war of the Turkish state and added that Basur government should lift the embargo.
• 27 social leaders killed in 27 days in Colombia 

  The Colombian Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) said that in the first 27 days of 2020, 27 social leaders and four former combatants and signatories of the 2016 Peace Agreement have been killed.
• Former co-mayor of Savur sentenced to over 10 years in prison 

  Mehmet Aydın Alökmen, former co-chair of Savur Municipality, seized by the AKP / MHP government in 2016, was sentenced to 10 years, 3 months and 22 days in prison.
• European Parliament set to accept UK Brexit deal 

  The 751 members of the European Parliament will debate today the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement. The Parliament is set to approve the terms of the UK's departure from the European Union in a historic vote.
