Fikret Başkaya criticized the state regarding the process, saying: "In order to talk about a peace process, the conditions for peace must first be created. The resolution of the Kurdish issue can only progress alongside the democratization of Turkey.”
SAMER Coordinator Yüksel Genç said the Kurdish people have welcomed Abdullah Öcalan’s call and are ready for peace, underlining that it is now the government’s turn to act.
The Peace in Kurdistan Campaign said that "Abdullah Öcalan surprised the world by making a renewed historic call for peace that offers hope for Turks and Kurds alike."
After the meeting with Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, DEM Party delegation said, “We stated that the conditions of Mr. Öcalan’s is the most important issue and his conditions must be improved with no buts."
