• District election board bans HDP rally in Istanbul 

  Zeytinburnu District Election Board has denied permission for the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) rally set to take place in Kazlıçeşme district of Istanbul on 30 May.
• Kurdistan Political Groups call for international observers to elections 

  The Joint Diplomatic Committee of Kurdistan Political Groups have called for international observers to the election process in Turkey in order to ensure a fair and democratic election.
• 'AKP confiscated large amounts of money collected for refugees' 

  Sıtkı Dursun, responsible for refugee work of the AKP-run Urfa Metropolitan Municipality, has been removed from his position and exiled to another institution as he criticised AKP’s policies towards refugees from Kobanê.
• Kurdish people travel to Oslo in groups to vote for HDP 

  The voting period for the general elections in Turkey started in Norway on Friday 22 May.
• Police sent by air to Şırnak 

  As the elections near, hundreds of riot police and special teams have been sent to Şırnak by air.
• Turkish nationalists who tortured 2 Kurdish students released 

  Four Turkish fascists who forcibly abducted two Kurdish students and tortured them were released by a prosecutor yesterday, and not remanded in custody.
• Voting in Cologne in its 17th day 

  The voting for the upcoming general election in Turkey is continuing in Cologne in its 17th day. Voting commenced on 8 May and is to end on 31st.
• All members of AKP’s Varto branch resign and join HDP 

  The AKP’s Varto branch executives as well as the members, youth and women commissions, comprising 60 people, have resigned from the party and joined the HDP at a ceremony held in front of the HDP’s election office.
• PYD holds public meeting in Cologne 

  The PYD’s European Office held a public meeting yesterday in Cologne in the Democratic Kurdish Society Centre with the participation of Kurdish people from Rojava.
• Now locally made planes will carry out massacres 

  The AKP Government, which has covered up the massacre of 34 people by planes at Roboski, has rubbed salt into the wounds by putting up election posters in Şirnex boasting: “We are building our own war planes.”
• HDP election office in Fındıklı attacked for the 7th time 

  The election office of the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) in Fındıklı district of Rize has been attacked for the seventh time despite the police standing guard outside.
• KCD-E: We must use the remaining voting time well 

  The KCD-E (Kurdish Democratic Society Congress in Europe) has called for a mobilisation in the last week for voting in Europe, “Democracy week”, saying it is vital to ensure the election campaign keeps up its momentum.
• Blast in cement factory leaves 3 dead, 2 others injured 

  A blast in a cement factory in the Turkish capital Ankara left 3 people dead and 2 others severely injured late yesterday.
• Kurdish students attacked in Aydın 

  A racist mob attacked a group of Kurdish students who were putting up banners of the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) in Karasu district of western province of Aydın yesterday.
• Kurds to vote in Moscow 

  While the ballot boxes will be open in Russia on 30-31 May for people to vote in the 7 June elections in Turkey, the HDP Moscow election committee has stepped up its work, calling on everyone from Kurdistan living in Russia to vote.
• The drug of ISIS and Al-Nusra: Captagon 

  The synthetic drug, “Captagon”, is said to be used widely by members of ISIS and Al-Nusra to survive pain and to gain courage. The drug is now produced in Syria, where it is exchanged with weapons in the Gulf countries.
• Ten more arrests in Doğubayazıt 

  Ten more of the young people arrested in the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı province have been formally arrested, bringing the number of those in prison to 14.
• ‘If the HDP wins regional peace will win’ 

  Support is growing for the HDP from politicians in South Kurdistan. Former Gorran Movement MP Abdullah Mele Nuri said the success of this project would mean a democratic solution of the Kurdish question and peace in the Middle East.
• Attacks on HDP offices in Istanbul and Izmir 

  Attacks on HDP election offices and its members are increasing. HDP’s election office in the Pendik district of Istanbul was attacked yesterday night with Molotov cocktails, while another attack took place in the Aliaga district of Izmir.
• KCK: All provocations will be foiled and democratic forces will prevail 

  The KCK Executive Council Co-presidency has issued a statement regarding the 7 June general elections in Turkey, saying the AKP sees the HDP as the enemy and is capable of carrying out all manner of provocation.
• Barber beaten up for refusing to shake AKP MP’s hand 

  During an election campaign by Istanbul AKP MP Hüseyin Bürge, a hairdresser who refused to shake the MP’s hand was beaten up by the MP’s sidekicks. The Hairdresser was also told his shop could be closed.
• Fascist attacks on HDP offices continue 

  Attacks by fascist groups on HDP election offices and members are continuing in the pre-election period.
• HDP Mersin Co-chair: Government responsible for the bomb attacks 

  HDP Mersin Provincial Co-chair Selman Günbat said that the President, Prime Minister and other AKP leaders were responsible for the attacks on the party’s offices in Adana and Mersin.
• 8 arrested in Ağrı and Silvan 

  4 persons who were taken into custody yesterday in simultaneous house raids in Ağrı were referred to court today, with the prosecutor asking for their formal arrest.
• FARC suspends unilateral and indefinite ceasefire 

  FARC has announced that they have suspended the unilateral and indefinite cease-fire proclaimed on December 20, 2014 as a humanitarian gesture of de-escalation of the conflict.
